What is LYF?

Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF) of the Pacific Southwest District serves on the District Youth Council, representing youth concerns and issues to the District. Serving as a resource, the Council promotes youth ministry in home congregations, communities and District wide. It also holds training events for other youth in the District.

What responsibilities does an LYF member have?

-         Be willing to serve on the board for a two year term

-         Meet three times a year as a board.*

-         Attend DYG and JR. DYG during your term.

-         Lead at least two training events during each summer.

-         Other activities may be added only by LYF approval.

(*Meetings are in Long Beach, CA and meet on Friday night/Saturday morning.)

What is the Cost?

If you are selected as a member of LYF, ALL travel costs are taken care of by the District. Spending money during events is all you will need.

What are the requirements to Apply?

-         You must be a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior

-         You must attend the DYG

-         You must complete an application (found at Registration)

How does the application process work?

-         The current LYF board reads all applications

-         15 applicants will be picked and interviewed Saturday

-         Three will be picked to serve a two year term.
