Can Our 6th Graders Attend?
If your youth ministry or confirmation program includes 6th graders with your 7th & 8th please do include them for the Jr. High DYG.
Why Is This Year's Jr. High DYG More Money?
This year is a new year with with a great expereince! In years past the Jr. DYG was $120 for where you where paying for JUST ONE NIGHT?! Less than 24 hrs of a DYG experience. That included a room and the dyg expereince.
THIS YEAR! the Jr. High DYG has expanded to TWO NIGHTS, ALL MEALS INCLUDED with all the DYG experience at a camp that has a zip line, camp fires, cabins...the whole camp experience with confirmation/bible study breakouts FOR JUST $40 MORE! Yeah $40 more you get ALL MEALS INCLUDED and 1 EXTRA NIGHT!
No more worrying about kids messing around on elevators, strangers that used the hotel, and those football guys. We'll be the only event at this camp where EVERYTHING is centerally locationed.
What If A Member Of Our Group Has Special Medical Needs?
If anyone in your group has special medical needs, we ask that you advise us in your registration materials, or call one of the committee members prior to the gathering so we can make proper arrangements.
When Should We Arrive?
Registration check-in will begin at 7:00pm on Friday, March 2, 2012. No check-ins will be accepted prior to 7:00pm. The opening mass event begins at 8:00pm. Registration will remain open until all groups have arrived.
When Do We Have Our Kids Wear Their Jr. High DYG T-Shirts?
We ask that gathering shirts be worn on Saturday.
Can Our Confirmation Class Have A Time To Meet Together?
Yes! You can choose to not attend the breakout sessions or use the open time in the schedule. If you desire a room to meet in please let us know prior to the event. You will also need to bring any items you might need to lead your group, i.e. screen, projector, computer, stereo, etc.
What Additional Camp Activities Can We Take Part In?
For an additional cost your group can sign up for the Ropes Course (including a 400 foot zip line) for a $5 per person additional cost, the skate park for $5 per person, or paintball for $10 per person. The fees for these will be collected when you arrive at the camp at registration. These will only be available weather permitting.
What Should Our Youth Pack, UPDATED AS OF FEB 16?
PACKING LIST
- FLASHLIGHT
- Luggage
- Towel and wash cloth
– Bring one suitcase/duffel bag and one sleeping bag only. Wrap your pillow in the sleeping bag and put it in a heavy plastic bag.
- Bible
- Warm clothes for 2 days: warm socks, warm underwear, rain/snow coat and pants, sweatshirt, long pants, t-shirt, gloves, (waterproof is good), two pair of shoes, a beanie or a hat, and a plastic garbage bag for dirty/wet clothes
- General toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, bath towel, etc. Chapstick or other lip protection and sunscreen
– Flip flops or shower shoes to wear while taking a shower
- Do not bring: CD players, IPODS, MP3 players, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or weapons (including pocket knives).
*Make sure ALL medication is placed in zip-lock bag with specific instructions. Leave all prescription medication in original container.
Be advise the cabins are not locked so we suggest that you do not bring valuables to camp and that you keep your money on your person.
What Will The Weather Be Like In March?
Because weather can never be predicted correctly, and right now who know what the weather will be like tomorrow, we would advise you to be prepared for colder weather and it's always good to be ready for snow just in case. Please check out the location road and weather conditions.
Where Is Thousand Pines Christain Camp Locationed?
Thousand Pines Christain Camp is located in Crestline, Ca! We will have markers and signs to help you out when you get up there the day of the DYG. You can also get directions by clicking on this link!
