Exciting things have begun in the area of youth and family ministry in the Pacific Southwest District. As of February 1, Dave Rueter, veteran DCE from within the PSD, began a new phase of ministry. He now serves Concordia University as a professor for the DCE program as well as our district as Youth & Family Ministry Facilitator. This means that DCE's and other youth and family minisry professionals now have a dedicated go to person for support and congregations all across the district have a resource to aid them in their efforts to improve or implement various facets of this critical area of ministry.
Dave is the husband to Andrea and proud father of James (2). In his ministry he has served at Faith, Huntington Beach for 9 years and the last 3 1/2 at Shepherdof the Hills, Rancho Cucamonga where he took the districts largest group to the NYG (52). Dave has his BA from Concorida University, Irvine as well as his MA in Faith & Culture from Trinity International University, and will be completing his PhD this May in Christian Education from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University. Dave has spoken at DYG's and conferences, he has served on many DYG planning teams as well as an NYG team and has been published by the Lutheran Education Journal and Christian Education Journal.
